Strength & Conditioning Coach, Injury Active Clinic, Ravenhall (Melbourne)
We help people get out of pain, move well and get strong, and we do it with clinicians and coaches working as one team, in one building. We're growing, and we're looking for a degree-qualified coach to run our rehab-to-performance gym with us.
About the role
You'll lead our small group strength sessions, coached in groups of no more than eight, and run the 6-week programmes that take people from injury through to confident training. Most of our members start with us because something hurts. Your job is to build their strength and capacity so the problem stays away.
What you'll do
- Coach small group strength and conditioning sessions and 1:1 sessions, adjusting each session to how people are moving on the day
- Run our 6-week training blocks and write individual programmes around people's goals and injury history
- Assess and track progress with strength testing, and use it to progress or modify training
- Work directly with our osteopaths, myotherapists and exercise physiologists, sharing information so every client has one plan and not three
- Help new members settle in and stay consistent, because retention is how people get results
- Keep your own learning current and bring evidence into how we coach
What you'll bring
- A degree in Exercise and Sport Science,
Exercise Physiology or a related field (Honours or Masters a bonus)
- ESSA accreditation (or eligibility), ASCA coaching accreditation or equivalent
- Robust coaching skills across the main lifts, plus a good eye for movement
- Sound understanding of load management and rehabilitation, including training around pain and injury
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Clear, warm communication with clients and a team that expects you to speak up
How we work
We believe pain does not always equal damage, and motion is medicine. We find the cause, fix the problem and keep it away. You'll have clinicians next to you every day, a purpose built gym and the support to keep developing.
What we offer
- Professional development, mentoring and time to learn alongside our clinicians
- A genuine path to grow with the business
