Blood Money Tattoo is part of Australia’s largest tattoo studio company, with studios across the country and a strong focus on developing artists from the ground up.
We’re looking for someone who’s reliable about tattooing — not just someone who thinks it looks cool.
If you’re obsessed with art, love tattoo culture, and are ready to put in the work to turn that passion into a career, this could be your shot.
The Apprenticeship
This is a hands-on, real-world tattoo apprenticeship inside a busy professional studio.
You’ll learn what actually goes into becoming a tattoo artist — from studio life, hygiene and client care through to drawing, design, practice skin and eventually tattooing real clients as your skills progress.
It’s a structured 9-month program, designed to build your foundations properly rather than rush you onto a machine before you’re ready.
And yes, the first few months can be challenging. You’ll be expected to work hard, take feedback, stay consistent and prove you’re serious about earning your place in the industry.
What You’ll Get Into
- Learn tattoo fundamentals through hands-on practice skin training
- Develop your drawing, design and tattooing skills
- Work alongside experienced tattoo artists
- Learn how a professional tattoo studio actually runs
- Build strong hygiene,
sanitation and studio habits
- Get feedback, guidance and mentorship throughout the program
- Progress towards tattooing real clients as your skills develop
- Work towards a pathway to becoming a resident artist
The Details
- 9-month structured apprenticeship
- 3 days per week
- Monday–Wednesday or Thursday–Saturday
- Full studio days starting from 9:00 AM
- Available at our Gold Coast or Brisbane studios
- Unpaid apprenticeship
- Most apprentices maintain separate employment alongside the program
We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a finished tattoo artist. We’re more interested in attitude, work ethic and potential.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is genuinely passionate about tattooing and art
- Is hungry to learn and improve
- Takes feedback without ego
- Shows up, works hard and stays committed
- Wants to build a long-term career in tattooing
- Has an artwork portfolio or examples of their work (preferred)
This isn’t a quick course, a hobby or a shortcut.
It’s an opportunity to get your foot in the door, learn from people working in the industry and put in the hours to build something real.
