Position Purpose

The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient retail performance, stock management, and customer satisfaction.

The role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency, supervising staff, and ensuring the store meets sales targets while complying with food safety and workplace standards. The position supports business growth through effective inventory control, team coordination, and high-quality service delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Oversee daily store operations including opening, closing, and overall shop presentation
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier coordination to ensure product availability and freshness
- Monitor inventory turnover and minimize wastage of perishable goods
- Supervise, train, and roster retail staff to ensure productive store operations
- Ensure high standards of customer service and handle customer enquiries and complaints




- Maintain visual merchandising standards including product displays and pricing accuracy
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and handling of fresh produce
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and daily financial reconciliations
- Coordinate deliveries, stock rotation, and storage in line with quality standards
- Implement workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures
- Liaise with suppliers and maintain strong business relationships
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

- Diploma in Retail Management, Business, or equivalent or higher qualification, or
- Minimum 1 -2 years of experience in retail management, preferably in fresh produce or grocery environments
- Experience managing perishable goods and high stock turnover operations
- Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory control, and customer service standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to supervise staff and manage team performance
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused approach

Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per annum + Superannuation
