About the position

In the Library Assistant – Programs & Engagement position, you will deliver community-based programs and outreach initiatives that connect people with library services beyond library branches. You will assist with planning and facilitating a range of engagement activities, including First 5 Forever programs, digital literacy classes, author talks, workshops, home library service and programs for adults, children and families. You will also work closely with branch staff to support the delivery of library programs, share expertise and resources, and ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for community members across the region.

In this position, you will also assist in the provision of programs, services and community engagement in the Toowoomba Region. You will promote literacy and library usage, social inclusion, and the Toowoomba Region library service within the community.

You will work under regular direction.

- The salary range for this Part time position is $44,405.27 - $48,046.94 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- This is a Temporary Part time (21.75 hours / week) position until 1 July 2029.
- The position is based in the Toowoomba CBD, with parking provided.
- The work pattern for this position is:
- Tuesday 9:00am - 4:15pm, with a 30 minute lunch break
- Wednesday 9:00am - 2:00pm
- Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm
- Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm
