Primary objective
As a member of the Workforce Strategy Team, your primary objective is to provide workforce planning advice, project support, research
and analysis to assist client agencies in developing evidence-based workforce strategies and implementing workforce planning initiatives.
Context statement
DCDD’s Workforce Strategy Team delivers strategic advice and support to help agencies deliver outcomes as aligned to the NTG
Workforce Strategies and agency specific actions plans to drive culture, engagement, learning, and leadership and capability development
strategies for the Northern Territory Government.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level advice, support,
and information to team members, client agencies and stakeholders including research, analysis and
interpretation of workforce information to inform the workforce planning activities and the creation of workforce planning materials.
2. Support the Workforce Strategy team with ongoing improvements of processes, materials, and effective record management.
3. Collaborate with key client agencies and stakeholders to obtain workforce data and information to support the development, delivery
and monitoring of agency workforce planning and related activities.
4. Conduct ongoing external research and analyse workforce issues from both Northern Territory and national perspectives, including
scanning other jurisdictions and summarising findings.
5. Prepare and develop an array of high-level written correspondence including workshop presentations, memos and reports to support
team members with workshop delivery.
6. Provide support and coordination with the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Workforce Strategy projects.
7. Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders and team members to foster a collaborative, effective and efficient environment
that ensures the delivery of meaningful workforce planning activities.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level coordination skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively plan,
prioritise and deliver agreed priorities and projects within
tight time constraints to meet deadlines.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide timely, clear advice and present outcomes in a way that is
easily understood by diverse audiences, including executives. Demonstrated ability to prepare well-structured reports, presentations,
and project proposals.
3. Demonstrated experience in supporting the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of projects, programs or initiatives
in a complex organisational environment.
4. Proven experience in conducting research and analysing workforce issues using data and evidence to develop practical insights,
conclusions, and recommendations that inform workforce initiatives.
5. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, cutting-edge and
respectful.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in human resource management, organisational design, data analytics, business
management, project management or another relevant field.
2. Experience working in a Human Resource or Workforce Development environment.
