Primary objective
Perform reception functions and deliver professional administrative services, including providing financial and administrative support to
the Senior Business Manager and Administration Manager.



Ensure an effective and efficient distribution service of distance education
learning materials, resources and equipment between partners schools and students in a busy and demanding on-line school environment.
Context statement
The Northern Territory School of Distance Education (NTSDE) supports and delivers a range of educational services to students’ resident
in the Northern Territory or temporarily living interstate or overseas. NTSDE collaborates with home schools, supporting educators to
deliver high quality, innovative and flexible senior secondary online programs. School staff must be prepared to travel, use advanced
online technologies, and work in both online and face-to-face modes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Reception duties including, answering calls, greeting visitors, managing general enquiries and monitoring various inboxes.
2. Use computer software packages to undertake word processing, presentations, data entry, office administration, and perform

administrative and other tasks as directed by the Business Manager and Administration Manager.
3. Work with the administration team as required to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.
4.



Assisting with purchases, receipting, invoicing, accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
5. Ensure student dispatches are consigned and collected in a timely manner.
6. Receive and send mail via internal courier and AusPost using eParcel.
7. Assist in the ongoing development of administration policies and procedures.
8. Quality assures school calendar and room bookings.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing reception duties as well as administrative support in duties such as, managing calendars,

handling correspondence and monitoring multiple inboxes.
2. Proficiency in the use of computer systems and software, including Office 365, email, electronic calendar applications and a willingness

to adopt new technology.
3. Knowledge in financial administration, in particular accounts payable processes.
4. A ‘can do’ attitude with a high level of flexibility, motivation, initiative, organisational skills, confidentiality, ability to prioritise workloads

and meet tight deadlines.
5. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including the ability to think creatively and the ability to learn and apply processes

and concepts quickly.
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team workplace with minimal supervision.
