DUTY MANAGER

Kent Town Hotel is seeking an experienced, hands-on Duty Manager to lead daily operations and deliver consistently high standards across our bars, restaurant, gaming room and function spaces.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the management team, you will take ownership of your shifts, providing clear direction to staff, overseeing service and ensuring the venue operates efficiently and professionally.

The position offers a flexible, rotating roster, including opening and closing shifts, nights and weekends. The hotel closes at midnight, with closing duties completed after trade.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Take responsibility for shift performance, including service standards, staff deployment, venue presentation and issue resolution.

- Manage opening and closing procedures, including operational checks, cash reconciliation, security and shift handovers.

- Lead and support the floor, bar and gaming teams, providing practical guidance and coaching.

- Actively oversee gaming operations, including service, cash handling, responsible gambling practices and patron care.

- Coordinate with kitchen and functions teams to ensure organised, timely service.





- Respond professionally to guest feedback and follow through on any required action.

- Monitor staffing against trade and make appropriate adjustments during shifts.

- Oversee stock readiness and communicate replenishment and maintenance requirements.

- Maintain RSA, responsible gambling, liquor licensing and WHS standards.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or in a comparable hospitality leadership role.

- Experience in gaming operations, including cash handling, compliance and patron care.

- Current RSA, RP and RSG credentials are required.

- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

- Sound judgement and the ability to make confident decisions under pressure.

- A practical, hands-on approach and a robust sense of accountability.

- Availability to work opening and closing shifts, nights and weekends across a rotating roster.
