We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Café All-Rounders / Barista to join our established café and catering operation in CBD.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with strong previous café experience who understands the day-to-day requirements of running a busy café and can confidently work across coffee, food, front-of-house and general café operations and especially :

- Food Display and Preparation
- Functions
- Meetings
- Small Office Catering

The successful applicant needs to be comfortable working autonomously as well as within a small team and willing to take responsibility for maintaining the standards of the café throughout the day.

The Role

The position is genuinely hands-on and will include:

- Preparing consistently high-quality espresso coffee
- Customer service and front-of-house operations
- Maintaining clean, organised and attractive front-of-house areas
- Setting up, presenting and replenishing food displays
- Food handling and general food preparation
- Maintaining presentation, taste and service standards
- Opening, operating and closing the café as required
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
- Working independently when required
- Supporting a small team across all areas of daily café operations
- Assisting with catering operations where required

What We Are Looking For

Previous café experience is essential, ideally 3+ years in a similar café/all-rounder role.





You will need:

- Strong barista and coffee-making experience
- Good knowledge of general café operations
- Experience with food preparation, handling and presentation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility
- A hands-on attitude – this is a role where everyone contributes
- Energy, reliability and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively within a small team
- Current Food Handler Certificate – essential
- Current RSA – essential
- Availability for approximately 40 hours per week for the full-time position
- Immediate availability preferred

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality person looking for a stable role in East Melbourne near Parliament Station.

Full-time is preferred, although we will consider an experienced casual applicant who can provide robust and consistent availability.

The role would particularly suit someone who enjoys the variety of being a true café all-rounder rather than being restricted to one station.
