About the Opportunity

We are seeking 2 experienced General Practitioners (GPs) to join an established GP practice in Kingston, Queensland, approximately 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD.

This is an excellent opportunity for eligible UK, Ireland and New Zealand-trained GPs, as well as Australian Fellowship-qualified GPs, looking to establish or continue their medical career in Queensland.

Husband-and-wife GP couples are particularly encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

We are particularly interested in candidates who meet one of the following profiles:

- UK MRCGP-qualified General Practitioners
- Ireland-trained GPs whose training is considered substantially comparable
- New Zealand-trained GPs whose training is considered substantially comparable
- Australian Fellowship-qualified GPs, including candidates currently working in Australia
- Australian Fellowship GPs who are in the final 12 months of their moratorium
- GP couples / husband-and-wife GP teams

Important Eligibility Requirement

Candidates must be eligible for the applicable Australian medical registration pathway.

UK MRCGP is required for the UK pathway. MRCGP International is not eligible.

PEP Specialist Pathway candidates are not suitable for this position.

Compensation & Benefits

- Guaranteed income of approximately AUD $24,000–$25,000 per month, regardless of patient volume, subject to final employment terms
- Australian Fellowship GPs: approximately AUD $175 per hour for the initial 3 months
- Overseas GPs: approximately AUD $160 per hour for the initial 7 months
- Compensation structure and guarantee period may be adaptable for the right candidate
- AUD $10,000 bonus after completing the initial 12 months
- Couples relocation support of approximately AUD $6,000–$7,000 upfront
- Additional AUD $18,000–$19,000 payment after 12 months for eligible couples

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

- Recognised medical qualification and GP training
- Relevant GP qualification from the UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia
- Eligibility for Australian medical registration
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Experience in primary care/general practice
- Chronic disease management experience
- Preventive and acute patient care experience
- Strong patient communication and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
- Willingness to relocate to Queensland, Australia

Candidates currently residing outside Australia are welcome to apply if they meet the applicable Australian registration and eligibility requirements.

UK-trained GPs:

UK MRCGP is required.

MRCGP International is not eligible.

Ireland and New Zealand-trained GPs:

Candidates with substantially comparable GP training may be considered.

For Australian-Based GPs

Australian Fellowship-qualified GPs are welcome to apply.

Candidates currently within the final 12 months of their moratorium may also be considered, including opportunities to work across the two practice sites until completion of the moratorium.

Couples Welcome

The practice has 2 vacancies and gives priority to husband-and-wife / partner GP couples.

Eligible couples may benefit from additional relocation and 12-month retention incentives.
