We’re looking for an experienced and detail-focused Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team at the Michael Hill Support Office in Brisbane.

In this role, you'll support the accurate and timely processing of invoices, staff expense claims, supplier account creation and maintenance, and supplier payments. You’ll also work closely with stores, departments and external stakeholders to resolve accounts payable queries and keep everything running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing

- Processing invoices, including coding and authorisation checks
- Entering invoices into the correct entity within the finance system
- Maintaining invoice spreadsheets across countries and stores
- Processing monthly rent and store repair invoices
- Reviewing and processing staff expense claims
- Monitoring the Accounts Payable inbox and responding to queries
- Liaising with stores and departments to resolve invoice issues
- Reconciling creditor statements and maintaining supplier accounts
- Processing local and international supplier payments
- Supporting the wider Finance team when required

What we’re looking for

- 3+ years' experience in an Accounts Payable role




- Prior experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- Experience using OCR or invoice automation tools, with APValet experience highly regarded
- Experience managing shared or multiple finance inboxes and responding to supplier and internal queries
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with numerical information
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A cooperative and adaptable approach to working within a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to support others when needed
- Experience working with both local and international suppliers is highly regarded
