Honey Care Collective is seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team and support participants across South Western Sydney.
We welcome both experienced support workers and people who are new to the disability sector who are willing to learn and share our commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of care.
Our expectations are high because the quality of support our participants receive matters. We’re looking for people who are attentive, dependable, proactive and compassionate, and who take pride in providing thoughtful and respectful support.
You must be comfortable providing personal care and willing to develop the skills required to support people with high physical support needs. Relevant training and competency assessments will be provided or required before specialised support tasks are undertaken independently.
About the role:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support that promotes each participant's choice, dignity, independence and individual goals.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing personal care, including assistance with showering, dressing, toileting and daily routines
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and hoist use in accordance with participant support plans and your training
- Supporting medication and health-related routines within your training and scope
- Supporting daily living skills and household activities
- Supporting participants to access their community, appointments, social activities and other meaningful opportunities
- Providing transport where required
- Encouraging participants to build skills, confidence and independence
- Completing accurate progress notes and other required documentation
- Reporting incidents and changes in a participant's health, wellbeing or support needs promptly
- Working collaboratively with participants, families and the broader support team
- Maintaining professional boundaries and respecting participant choice, dignity, privacy and confidentiality

Essential requirements:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Willingness to provide personal care and support participants with high physical support needs
- Willingness to undertake required training, including safe manual handling and hoist use
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
- Current Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to provide 100 points of identification
- Valid Australian working rights
Previous disability support experience and qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or Aged Care are welcomed but are not essential.

Employment conditions:
Pay and conditions will be in accordance with the applicable award or agreement and classification, including superannuation and relevant penalty rates and allowances.
