Handycrete is looking for a Motor Mechanic to join its Kirrawee plant.

Based in Kirrawee, NSW, HandyCrete Concrete is an independently owned ready-mix concrete supplier servicing the Sutherland Shire and Greater Sydney region. With decades of industry experience, the company provides custom-blended concrete solutions tailored for commercial developers, residential builders, landscapers, plumbers, and DIY homeowners.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Motor/Plant Mechanic is responsible for the ongoing mechanical maintenance, fault diagnosis, servicing, and repair of a diverse range of motor vehicles, light-to-medium transport equipment, fleet auxiliary units, and mechanical plant machinery operating within a heavy industrial concrete production facility.

Tasks

- Concrete Plant Mechanical Maintenance: Perform targeted mechanical repairs on auxiliary plant equipment, including conveyor drive motors, batching plant gearboxes, hydraulic pump drives, air compressors, and pneumatic valve actuators.
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
- Inspect trucks, machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic test to discover functionality issues
- Conduct repairs and servicing to trucks and vehicles, aiming for maximum reliability




- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
- Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, etc.)
- Keep accurate logs of work and report on issues
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle operators
- HR licence is required, for test driving and diagnosing problems

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

· Relevant trade qualification, degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience

Experience:

· 2-3 years' experience in a similar role

Skills:

- Advanced Diagnostics & Fault Finding

- Engine & Mechanical Repair

- Brakes, Steering & Suspension

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $79,500.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kirrawee NSW 2232: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

- Mechanic: 3 years (Required)

Licence/Certification:

- HR Driver Licence (Required)
