About Us:
Forkwest, now rebranded as Adaptalift Southwest, is a locally operated forklift company based in Bunbury, WA and part of the Adaptalift Group. With nearly 30 years in business, we combine solid local relationships with the backing of one of Australia’s largest materials handling networks.
We specialise in the sales, hire, repair and servicing of leading equipment brands including Yale, Hyster, JCB, Liftsmart, Schäffer Loaders and Kärcher, as well as commercial vehicles including 4WDs and light trucks.
Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a skilled Workshop Technician to join our team based in Bunbury, WA.
The Role:
This hands-on workshop role focuses on diagnosing, repairing and preparing used equipment to a high standard. You will work closely with our sales and yard teams to ensure equipment is workshop-ready and turned around efficiently.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm,
with overtime available.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
- Diagnose, repair and service used forklifts, plant and other equipment
- Complete mechanical inspections, condition reports and preventative maintenance
- Prepare repair quotes and recommend required works
- Prepare equipment for sale or further use
- Work collaboratively with the sales and yard teams to support timely equipment turnaround
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

Here’s what it takes:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate — all mechanical trades considered
- Experience servicing plant equipment, forklifts, agricultural machinery, automotive vehicles or similar equipment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience preparing repair quotes is highly regarded
- Current driver’s licence
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, as well as referee checks
- Full Australian working rights
