Ready to take the next step in your project management career?
If you’ve built your foundations as a Site Engineer, Project Engineer or within civil construction, and you’re ready to take greater ownership of projects, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
You’ll be joining a well-established, second-generation organisation with over 40 years of experience across the Civil, Mechanical and Environmental disciplines.
Based out of Eraring Power Station, you’ll be working closely with one of Australia’s largest energy providers, supporting projects across a complex and highly operational environment.
This isn’t about stepping into a senior PM role and being expected to know everything from day one.
It’s about taking the experience you’ve built across engineering, construction or project delivery and using it to step up, broaden your project management capability and take ownership of meaningful infrastructure projects.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, technical specialists, contractors and client-side stakeholders, giving you plenty of prospect to learn while getting your hands on the delivery side of projects.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with the Ash Dam Operations Manager and Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in coordinating and delivering ongoing works and projects across a tailings dam environment.
You’ll be involved in:
- Coordinating civil and infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery and completion
- Working closely with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and client-side stakeholders
- Supporting project planning, programmes, budgets, resources and reporting
- Coordinating site activities and making sure projects continue to move forward
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues and changes
- Reviewing designs, methodologies and proposed solutions to ensure they are practical and fit for purpose
- Supporting inspections, technical investigations and project documentation
- Working with engineers and technical specialists to resolve project and delivery challenges
- Communicating regularly with the client and keeping key stakeholders across project progress
- Looking for opportunities to improve existing processes, methodologies and infrastructure
Projects will span areas including bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, materials, dam-related infrastructure and remediation, as well as emerging solutions involving ash beneficiation, cement products and recent materials.
You’ll get exposure to the full project lifecycle, while working in an environment where technical understanding and practical project delivery go hand in hand.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with around 3–5 years’ experience across civil engineering, construction or project delivery.
You might currently be working as a Site Engineer, Project Engineer or even a Junior Project Manager.
Your experience could have been gained within civil construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, heavy industry or an engineering consultancy.
We’re open to different career pathways. You might have spent the last few years working on site for a civil contractor, coordinating construction activities and subcontractors. Or perhaps you’ve come from an engineering background and have gradually taken on more responsibility for project delivery.
Either way, we’re looking for someone ready to take that next step.
You’ll ideally have some experience across:
- Civil construction or infrastructure projects
- Contractor, subcontractor and consultant coordination
- Project planning, programmes, budgets and reporting
- Client and stakeholder communication
- Project risk, quality and safety
- Site coordination and resource planning
- Managing project issues and finding practical solutions
- Working within complex or operational environments
Experience across bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, structural works,
remediation, dams or heavy industry would be highly regarded.
Your technical background will also be important.
You don't need to be the person doing the engineering design, but you should be comfortable understanding technical requirements, reviewing proposed solutions and having credible conversations with engineers and specialists.
Most importantly, you’re someone who is ready to take ownership.
You’re comfortable picking up the phone, working through an issue with a contractor or client, asking questions when you don’t know something and finding a practical way forward.
You don’t need to be a seasoned Project Manager.
If you’re a technically capable Site or Project Engineer who is ready to broaden your project management experience, this could be a great opportunity to make that move.

What sets them apart is their hands-on, engineering-led approach.

Alongside meaningful and technically challenging work, you’ll also benefit from:
- Monthly RDOs
- Company vehicle
- Flexible working hours
- Working alongside highly experienced engineering and technical specialists
- Exposure to major energy infrastructure and complex projects
- A collaborative team environment where you’ll have the opportunity to learn and develop
