Synergie Australia is seeking Multiple APS6 Senior Compliance Officers and Investigations Officers for a trusted government client located in Melbourne and Canberra.
The important parts:
- Pay: $99,734 - $111,701 + 15.4% Super | Duration: 12-month contract (potential for extension)
What you will be required to do:
Multiple APS6 opportunities are available across both Compliance and Investigations streams.
Working under limited direction, you will exercise a high degree of independence while contributing to complex regulatory activities that have broad public interest and government significance.
Senior Investigations Officer
As a Senior Investigations Officer, you will:
- Apply a risk-based approach to complex investigations involving potential legislative breaches.
- Utilise data, intelligence, and analytical tools to identify high-risk behaviours, entities, and emerging schemes.
- Prepare high-quality investigation reports, briefs, recommendations, and correspondence.
- Contribute to the development of regulatory policies, processes, and procedures.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support effective regulatory outcomes.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
Qualifications in investigations, regulatory compliance, law enforcement, or a Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or willingness to obtain)
will be highly regarded.
Senior Compliance Officer
As a Senior Compliance Officer, you will:
- Review and assess complex regulatory disclosures and submissions for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct compliance reviews and assurance activities in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Support the administration and assessment of funding, reporting, and regulatory obligations.
- Analyse information from multiple sources to identify potential compliance risks and issues.
- Develop recommendations and advice to support informed decision-making.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members.
Qualifications or demonstrated experience in accounting, finance, commerce, auditing, compliance, or related disciplines will be highly regarded.
To be successful in the role you will:
- Experience in compliance, investigations, auditing, assurance, risk, regulatory, or related environments.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail, and a commitment to integrity and professionalism.
- Adaptability and resilience within a changing legislative and regulatory environment.
- Experience leading work, mentoring staff, or contributing to team capability development.
