We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our friendly and supportive team at our residential aged care facility in Warwick.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at Akooramak, you will provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to our residents.

Working alongside our carers, nurses, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team, you will use your clinical skills and genuine passion for helping others to make a positive difference to our residents' health, wellbeing, independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will:

- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nursing care within your professional scope of practice.
- Undertake clinical assessments and monitor residents for changes in their health and wellbeing.
- Develop,



review and update individualised care plans to reflect residents' changing needs.
- Consider residents' physical, social, emotional and psychological needs when planning and providing care.
- Administer and manage medications in accordance with relevant professional standards, legislation and organisational policies.
- Provide wound care and other clinical nursing interventions as required.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration, incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinate and supervise care delivered by personal care workers and other members of the care team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and resident records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in clinical handovers, care conferences and quality improvement activities.
- Support infection prevention and control and clinical governance requirements.
- Ensure clinical quality and compliance standards are maintained.
- Promote residents' dignity, independence, choice, privacy and quality of life.
- Work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary care team.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent recognised nursing qualification.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- A minimum of 12 months' relevant nursing experience.
- A current National Police Check, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Sound clinical assessment and care-planning skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A genuine commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care to older people.

Experience in residential aged care, geriatric nursing, community nursing, rehabilitation, acute care or another relevant nursing environment will be highly regarded.

You understand that high-quality aged care is about supporting the whole person and respecting each resident's individual needs, choices, dignity and independence.

You will bring sound clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a positive approach to working collaboratively with residents, families and your colleagues.

Salary and Benefits

Salary from $79,423 per annum plus superannuation for a full-time position, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applicable shift, weekend, night-duty and public holiday penalties and allowances may also apply.
