Oldfields Farm, which specialises in hay production, cropping and sheep farming, is in the upper Great Southern region near Narrogin. We require a dedicated full-time Agricultural Mobile Plant Operator to commence employment on the property.

The position of the Agricultural Mobile Plant Operator will encompass the complete end-to-end cropping program, as well as the ongoing maintenance of property infrastructure, involvement in new developments, and mechanical maintenance as necessary. Proficiency in machinery operation will be critical during peak periods, particularly for tasks related to ground preparations, seeding, hay and harvest activities, and fertiliser applications.

Duties include:

- Supervising and undertaking broadacre crop planting, cultivation and harvesting.
- Supervising livestock breeding, raising, feeding and watering.
- Monitoring livestock health, nutrition and welfare.
- Operating and maintaining tractors, harvesters and other agricultural machinery.
- Supervising farm workers and allocating daily work activities.
- Training and providing guidance to farm workers.
- Supervising farm infrastructure, fencing, water supply and irrigation systems.
- Monitoring crop and livestock production.
- Maintaining farm production records.
- Implementing workplace safety and biosecurity procedures.
- Using GPS, yield monitoring or other agricultural technology where applicable.

Requirements:





- Relevant experience in broadacre cropping and livestock farming.
- Demonstrated experience operating tractors, harvesters and other agricultural machinery.
- Knowledge of crop cultivation, harvesting and livestock management.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate farm workers and daily farm activities.
- Good understanding of workplace health, safety and biosecurity practices.
- Ability to maintain farm records and production information.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver's licence.
- Relevant agricultural qualifications or training would be an advantage but not essential.

Candidates must possess prior experience operating contemporary farming equipment that includes GPS technology. A strong willingness to learn, a demonstrated initiative, a solid work ethic, and the ability to maintain a reliable and trustworthy workplace are essential qualities. Working independently while functioning effectively within a team environment is crucial.
