Primary objective
Primary objective Ensure delivery of high quality, culturally appropriate and effective Clinical Dietetic services whilst providing
clinical leadership and supervision to Allied Health Professionals at the Tennant Creek Hospital Health Service.

Context statement
NT Health provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings including acute and sub-acute care, primary
health care,



aged care and mental health. Currently seeking applicants in the following areas: Clinical Dietetics.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate Dietetics services within a multidisciplinary framework.
2. Provide expert advice on program and clinical issues within Nutrition and Dietetics.
3. Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship and education to staff and students.
4. Independently organise and manage a high-volume complex workload within a dynamic and evolving work environment across

the Tennant Creek Health Service including the Tennant Creek Renal Unit to ensure timelines and health outcomes are met.
5. Initiate, implement and complete research, continuous quality improvement, and service development activities at a local or

regional level to ensure delivery of contemporary Nutrition and Dietetic services.
6. Lead and/or monitor the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken

in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1.



Relevant qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics that meets membership eligibility requirements of Dietitians Australia and

APD status.
2. Extensive post graduate experience in providing contemporary, high level clinical dietetic services to patients and

families/carers.
3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients

and families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
4. Proven high-level communication and interpersonal skills, including well developed negotiation and conflict management skills,

with significant experience working in a team workplace to achieve positive health outcomes.
5. Extensive experience in clinical supervision of students and staff and a commitment to professional development.
6. Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
7. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively organise and manage a high-volume complex workload.

Desirable
1. Possession of a NT drivers’ licence / willingness to obtain one.
