About the role
The Disability Service Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the daily delivery of disability support services across Fairability Services. The position provides operational leadership, manages staff and resources, oversees participant intake and service arrangements, and acts as the main operational contact for participants, families and stakeholders. The manager works closely with the Director to maintain secure, person-centred services, support participant goals, strengthen organisational systems and manage service performance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across assigned disability services and accommodation locations, establish work priorities, allocate responsibilities, resolve operational issues and monitor completion of daily tasks
- Conduct regular service visits, provide guidance to staff and ensure agreed supports are delivered consistently, managing service disruptions and staffing gaps
- Manage enquiries, referrals and the participant intake process from initial contact through to commencement of services, including suitability assessments and service agreements
- Coordinate recruitment, interviews, induction, supervision and performance reviews, and oversee rosters, leave coverage and staff allocation
- Act as the main operational point of contact for participants, families, carers, guardians and other stakeholders, providing service updates and addressing concerns
- Oversee the development, implementation and review of individual support plans in collaboration with participants and their support networks
- Coordinate compliance with applicable NDIS Practice Standards, registration conditions and organisational policies, including audit preparation
- Lead the operational response to incidents, allegations of harm, complaints and safeguarding concerns, ensuring matters are documented and escalated promptly
- Work with the Registered Nurse and treating practitioners to coordinate implementation of relevant support plans and ensure workers have access to current instructions and training
- Monitor staffing costs, service expenditure and financial performance of assigned services, and work with administration staff to check service records and invoices
About you
- A relevant qualification in disability, community services, social work, nursing, health administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience supervising or managing disability services, including staff leadership, participant relationships and operational responsibilities
- Experience in Supported Independent Living or other accommodation-based services is particularly relevant
- Ability to manage competing priorities, make sound operational decisions,
supervise staff and maintain reliable services across multiple locations
- Practical understanding of participant rights, safeguarding, service agreements, incident management, audit preparation and person-centred support
- Ability to work respectfully with participants, families and professionals, resolve disagreements and communicate clearly in meetings and written reports
- Confidence using rostering, participant management and office systems, reviewing service records and monitoring budgets and expenditure
- Hold and maintain an appropriate NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Working with Children Check where applicable to the duties
- Ability to travel between service locations and attend external meetings

Pay: $89,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
