Support Worker – Disability & Aged Care

Casual - Gold Coast

Gold Coast Disability Connect - Multiple positions available

Make every shift matter!

At Gold Coast Disability Connect, we support NDIS participants and older members of our community to live safely, independently, and on their own terms, at home and out in the community.

Excellent support work changes lives, not just for the people we support, but for the workers who show up with heart, skill, and genuine care. We're growing our casual Support Worker team across the Gold Coast region, and we're looking for people who see this work for what it truly is: helping people live the lives they choose, with dignity and independence, at every age and stage.

The role

- Employment type: Casual (SCHADS rates + casual loading + penalty rates)

- Location: Gold Coast region

- Clients: NDIS participants and older Australians receiving in-home aged care (Support at Home)

- Start date: Immediate starts available, subject to completion of onboarding requirements

You'll provide person-centered support in clients' homes and communities, assisting with daily living, personal care, domestic assistance, social support, community access, and helping people work toward their goals and maintain their independence.

- Weekends

We'll always work with you to build a sustainable roster, however, but broad availability is desirable.

What's in it for you

- Casual rates and penalty rates

- Variety in your work week, a genuine mix, which means no two shifts are the same, and you'll build skills across two growing sectors

- Training; paid shadow shifts, ongoing professional development, and support to complete your Cert III

- Accessible team members and managers,

regular check-ins, and a culture where support workers are supported

- Work that means something, every shift, you'll see the difference you make

What you will need

Essential

- A warm, can-do attitude and genuine empathy

- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

- Willingness to comply with BOTH:

- The NDIS Code of Conduct

- The Aged Care Code of Conduct

- Current First Aid and CPR

- Current QLD Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (where necessary)

- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Modules

- Right to work in Australia

Highly Regarded

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing, or both streams) or a willingness to enrol (we'll help you get there)

- Experience in high-intensity care.

- Demonstrated experience with manual handling equipment.

- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

- Current influenza vaccination

- Experience supporting older clients, people living with dementia

- Experience in high-intensity and complex care, including mealtime management, dysphagia support, enteral feeding, PEG care, diabetes support, medication assistance, manual handling.

No formal experience?

If you've cared for a family member, volunteered, or simply have the right heart for this work, please apply. We can teach the skills; we can't teach the heart.
