Daydream Island Resort is seeking a friendly, professional and service-focused Food & Beverage Attendant to join our Food & Beverage team on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for delivering welcoming, efficient and memorable dining experiences for guests across our food and beverage outlets.

The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, attentive to guest needs and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will represent the resort with a positive attitude, maintain high standards of presentation and cleanliness, and contribute to the smooth daily operation of the venue.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide warm, professional and personalised service to all guests.
- Greet guests, present menus, explain food and beverage offerings, and respond to enquiries accurately.
- Take and process food and beverage orders using the point-of-sale system.
- Serve meals, beverages and refreshments promptly, accurately and in accordance with service standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience and resolve minor concerns professionally, escalating where required.
- Prepare dining areas before service, including setting tables,



stocking service stations and ensuring all equipment is clean and operational.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently while maintaining a clean, organised and inviting outlet environment.
- Assist with basic food and beverage preparation, including preparing hot and cold drinks, where required.
- Process guest payments and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of menu items, ingredients, dietary requirements, allergens, promotions and beverage selections.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, responsible service of alcohol, workplace health and safety, and resort policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar and front-of-house team members to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Assist with stock replenishment, inventory checks and the safe storage of food, beverages and service supplies.
- Undertake opening, closing and cleaning duties as directed by the Food & Beverage Supervisor or Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Previous experience in a food and beverage, restaurant, bar, café or hospitality environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A professional appearance,



positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.
- The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and peak trading periods.
- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, or the ability to obtain one, where required.

Skills and Experiences:

- Previous experience in a food and beverage, hospitality, restaurant, bar or resort environment is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to provide friendly, attentive and professional customer service in a fast-paced setting.
- Sound knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including table service, buffet service and bar operations.
- Ability to take accurate orders, process payments and operate point-of-sale systems confidently.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, or the willingness to obtain and maintain it.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with guests and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing tasks independently.
- High attention to detail, including maintaining cleanliness, presentation and hygiene standards.
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety practices is desirable.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, early mornings and evenings.
- A reliable, well-presented and proactive approach, with a genuine passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
