Head of Credit and Capital, Sydney (full-time, hybrid)

I'm helping hire for a key early role at a fast-growing lender (one of our sibling companies). The business sees this person as a founding employee, and the role has excellent prospects for progression.

The business

We're an Australian fintech specialty lender. It lends against recurring income in the financial services sector, so business owners can grow, hire and make acquisitions without giving up equity. The business is backed by a growing institutional debt facility and is expanding into recent verticals. It's a small, hands-on team, and the person in this role will help shape the business for years.

The role

You'll report directly to the founder and look after both sides of the business: how it's funded and how it lends. You'll run deals yourself, not just oversee them.

Capital: financial model and loan book performance, treasury and drawdowns across funding lines, reporting to funders and noteholders, compliance (including AML/CTF), and supporting capital raising, pricing and new products.

Credit: end-to-end deal assessment, underwriting for new verticals,



meeting borrowers and making approval decisions (with more autonomy over time), automating the credit framework (AI/OCR, scoring, loan management system), and monitoring the book.

We'd especially like to hear from you if you're:

- At a mid-market private credit or specialty lending firm, and you want to move into a role that combines credit and capital, or
- A credit officer at a fast-paced digital or non-bank lender and wants more ownership and upside

You'll likely have

- Around 6–8 years' experience with solid credit assessment skills
- The ability to build, read and stress-test models and financial statements
- Good commercial judgement: careful where it matters, flexible when the playbook doesn't fit
- Bonus: experience with warehouse or structured facilities, or with acquisition or rent roll finance
