Join Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress), an established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service with a strong commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people across Central Australia. As a remote GP, you’ll be part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive, culturally safe care across the lifespan while working alongside experienced Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Remote Area Nurses and visiting Allied Health and specialist services. The role offers an opportunity to develop your expertise in Aboriginal and remote health, contribute to clinical leadership and service development, and build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients, families and community.

What’s the role?
Remote practice with Congress offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with patients and community, manage a broad range of clinical presentations and develop your skills in Aboriginal and remote health.





You’ll have the professional opportunity to provide comprehensive care across the lifespan, contribute to clinical leadership and work collaboratively with a team committed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people across Central Australia.

What do you need to apply?

- Hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)

- Be a Fellow of the RACGP or ACRRM

- Good communication skills, especially in a cross-cultural environment

- Willingness and ability to accommodate Aboriginal values and traditions in clinical practice

- Ability to work well under pressure and work effectively in a multidisciplinary primary health care team

- Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work in remote locations

- Current emergency and advanced life support training certificate or willingness to obtain before starting the role

- Current NT Driver Licence or ability to obtain

- Qualifications DipRANZCOG, FACGP, MPH, Rural Generalist is advantageous.
