Sunshine Harvester Primary School invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals or businesses to operate our school canteen.

This is an opportunity to provide a healthy, affordable and high quality food service for our welcoming and culturally diverse school community. Our school caters for Prep to Year 6 students, with approximately 350 students anticipated in 2027.

About the opportunity

The successful provider will independently manage the day to day operation of the school canteen during Victorian school terms, excluding public holidays and pupil free days.

Responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and selling fresh, nutritious and affordable food.
- Developing a varied menu that considers students’ dietary, cultural and religious needs.
- Managing staffing, stock purchasing, food preparation and customer service.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic canteen.
- Providing friendly service and building positive relationships with students, staff and families.
- Working with the school to review menus, pricing and service quality.
- Supplying additional appliances and equipment as required.

About you





We welcome applications from operators who can demonstrate:

- Experience in canteen operations, hospitality or food services.
- The ability to deliver a reliable and financially sustainable service.
- Strong food safety practices and appropriate food handling qualifications.
- A commitment to child safety and a positive school setting.
- Appropriate insurance and relevant checks for personnel working on school grounds.
- An understanding of healthy eating and the needs of primary school students.

Important information

This opportunity is for an independent canteen service provider operating under an agreement with School Council. It is not a salaried school employee position. Full service requirements and agreement conditions are outlined in the EOI documentation.
