Female Disability Support Worker – Complex Personal Care & Manual Handling
Location: Pakenham VIC
Employment: Casual
Mission Ability is looking for an experienced and reliable Disability Support Worker to join a small, consistent care team supporting a participant in Pakenham.
This is not a general community-access role. The support includes hands-on personal care, manual handling, mobility assistance and transfers, so we are looking for someone with genuine practical experience in these areas.
Due to the participant’s personal-care requirements and preference for in-home supports, we are seeking a female support worker for this position.
We are seeking workers with reliable ongoing availability across weekdays and weekends, including early morning starts. Regular recurring shifts are available, with potential for additional hours as the support team develops.
The role may include:
- Personal care and assistance with daily routines
- Manual handling and transfers
- Mobility support
- Use of transfer equipment
- Meal preparation and assistance with meals
- Supporting the participant safely and respectfully throughout the day
- Following established support and manual-handling plans
- Clear shift documentation and communication with Mission Ability
We are particularly interested in applicants who have:
- Genuine hands-on experience with personal care and physical support
- Current manual-handling training and practical transfer experience
- Experience using a Sara Stedy or similar sit-to-stand/transfer aid — highly regarded
- Experience supporting people with significant physical support needs
- A Cert III/IV in Individual Support or Disability, Diploma of Nursing, or other relevant qualification/experience
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current Police Check
- Reliable transport for early morning starts in Pakenham
- Strong reliability and communication
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is calm, respectful and reliable, and who understands that positive support is about more than completing tasks — it’s about learning the participant’s routine, listening, building trust and providing consistent support.
Why Mission Ability?
We deliberately build small, consistent care teams rather than continually rotating workers. We want workers to know the people they support, understand their routines and have the training and information they need to provide safe, quality support.
Casual rate: $40.00–$43.03 per hour, depending on applicable SCHADS classification, duties and relevant experience, plus superannuation and applicable penalties and allowances.
If your experience genuinely matches the requirements above, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
