About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Joiner to join our construction and manufacturing team in Ermington.

The role is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, installing and repairing timber and wooden components, including cabinetry, doors, windows, fittings and custom joinery products.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications to determine joinery requirements and construction methods.

- Select suitable timber, timber products and other materials according to project specifications.

- Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other materials using hand tools and woodworking machinery.

- Manufacture and assemble timber components including doors, windows, frames, cabinets and custom joinery items.

- Construct and fit joints using appropriate techniques including adhesives, screws, fixings and traditional joinery methods.

- Operate woodworking machinery including saws, routers, planers and other workshop equipment safely.

- Install completed joinery products including cabinets, doors, windows and timber fittings at residential and commercial sites.

- Check completed joinery work for accuracy, alignment, quality and compliance with specifications.

- Perform finishing work including sanding, polishing, adjustments and repairs to completed joinery items.

- Identify and resolve fitting,



measurement and installation issues during joinery work.

- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe and efficient working condition.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures when operating machinery and completing installation work.

Qualifications and Experience

- Relevant qualification in Joinery or a related trade field.

- Previous experience working as a Joiner or a similar trade role.

- Experience interpreting technical drawings, plans and construction specifications.

- Knowledge of timber products, joinery techniques and installation methods.

- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within construction or manufacturing environments.

- Robust attention to detail and ability to complete precise joinery work.

- Ability to interpret drawings and translate designs into finished products.

- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve fitting and installation issues.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.

- Good communication skills when coordinating with builders, clients and other trades.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete projects within required timeframes.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
