About the Role:

This is a full-time position offering an annual salary of $80,000 – $90,000 plus superannuation, based in Australia. The role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Estimator to support the preparation of accurate cost estimates, quotations and tender submissions for residential and commercial tiling and construction projects. The position involves reviewing project plans, drawings, specifications and scope of works, assessing material and labour requirements, obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor pricing, and preparing detailed cost estimates in accordance with project requirements.

Responsibilities

Estimating & Cost Planning

- Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for residential and commercial tiling and construction projects.
- Review project plans, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine labour, material,



and other project requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and calculate material, labour, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs.
- Apply appropriate rates, allowances, margins, and contingencies to develop commercially sound estimates.

Tendering & Pricing

- Analyse tender documentation and identify project requirements, inclusions, exclusions, and potential cost risks.
- Obtain and assess pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant parties.
- Prepare detailed quotations and tender documentation within required deadlines.
- Review and update estimates project specifications, quantities, or pricing change.

Project & Cost Analysis

- Monitor estimated and actual project costs and identify significant variations or potential cost overruns.
- Maintain accurate records of quantities, rates, supplier pricing, and estimating assumptions.
- Assist with cost planning and provide estimating information to support project planning and decision-making.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and clients to clarify project requirements and pricing.

Documentation, Compliance & Safety

- Maintain accurate estimating, tender, quotation, and project documentation.
- Ensure estimates reflect project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable construction standards.
- Identify potential commercial,



material, and project delivery risks during the estimating process.
- Follow workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures and contribute to safe project planning and delivery.

Job Requirements

- Relevant AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Construction Management, Building, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, labour costs, quantities, and project pricing.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Experience conducting quantity take-offs and preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations.
- Ability to obtain, assess, and negotiate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Robust numerical, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
