About the Role
As an inaugural team member as a Scrub Scout Registered nurse, you will provide safe, high-quality patient care throughout surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and the theatre team. The role includes both Scrub and Scout/Circulating duties, maintaining aseptic technique, preparing instruments and equipment, supporting surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety and effective theatre operations.
Key Responsibilites
- Scrub and scout nursing for angiography and interventional procedures.
- Preparing and maintaining the sterile field, equipment and procedural supplies.
- Assisting the proceduralist and team throughout procedures.
- Monitoring patient safety, clinical status and infection prevention requirements.
- Completing accurate clinical documentation and ensuring appropriate equipment and stock are available.
- Participating in emergency response, patient transfers and post-procedure care as required.
- Working collaboratively with radiographers, cardiologists, vascular surgeons and other multidisciplinary team members.
Requirements of the Role
- At least 12 months of surgical ward experience.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- High level communication skills to build positive relationships and deliver quality care.
You will be required to have or be willing to obtain:
- Verification of eligibility to work in Australia.
- Identification check validation.
- Police check clearance.
