Primary objective
Lead the development, optimisation, and day-to-day management of digital systems that support case management, records management,
and internal knowledge sharing, ensuring systems are reliable, user‑focused, and aligned with legal and operational requirements.
Context statement
The Director of Public Prosecutions operates independently within the Attorney-General’s Department.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage and maintain core digital platforms for case and records management, intranet content, and digital storage, ensuring system
availability, accuracy, and secure access for staff.
2. Lead as the primary business analyst for digital services by identifying gaps, consulting with users, documenting requirements,
designing improvements, and delivering system configurations or process changes where required.
3. Prioritise and manage a pipeline of digital systems improvement projects and enhancements to current systems, balancing business
needs with limited resourcing and escalating major system changes or requests for procurement to the Assistant Director.
4. Monitor system performance, manage data storage and governance practices, and ensure records management and privacy obligations
are met in day‑to‑day operations and system designs.
5. Develop system user guides, standard operating procedures, and training materials for digital tools, and provide frontline support to
employees encountering system issues.
6. Liaise with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and other Government IT teams (including court and police interfaces) to
troubleshoot issues, coordinate integrations, manage change requests, and ensure technical solutions meet legal and operational
constraints.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Robust business analysis skills with a proven ability to gather requirements, map systems processes, propose and work on technical or
process improvements,
and deliver workable solutions within constrained budgets.
2. Demonstrated experience working with digital case management, records management, and document management systems, including
configuration, user support, and content management on intranet platforms.
3. Practical knowledge of legal and information governance requirements relevant to digital records and case management, including
privacy and security.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate liaison with internal and external stakeholders such as technical teams
and vendors, including managing system integrations or interfaces with external Government systems.
5. Demonstrated high level of technical literacy with experience using and administering enterprise collaboration and document storage
platforms (for example SharePoint or equivalent).
6. Proven ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical users and to build consensus for change across multiple business areas.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in information systems, business analysis, IT, or a related discipline, and prior experience in a Government or legal
environment.
2. Working Knowledge and experience using NT Government systems, including Resolve and Axon.
