About Atomic Projects
Atomic Projects is a Sydney remedial building contractor. We fix apartment buildings right across the metro — balconies, façades, waterproofing and concrete repairs. We self-deliver the work with our own direct crew, which means our labourers get real hands-on work on the tools and a genuine path into a trade, not just fetch-and-sweep.
About the Role
We're hiring labourers for remedial building sites across Sydney NSW. If you've put in the hard yards in a warehouse, factory or storeroom — picking and packing, manual handling, heavy lifting, moving stock all shift — you already have the two things that matter most on our sites: you're physically fit and you're reliable. We'll teach you the rest.
This is hands-on site work and no two days are the same. You'll move materials to where the trades need them, help break out and repair concrete, prep surfaces for the waterproofers, patch brickwork and render, and keep your work front clean and protected. No construction experience necessary — if you're a strong, reliable worker willing to learn, we train you on the tools and fund your tickets. Experienced remedial or construction labourers are welcome too: you'll come in a pay grade up and move up fast.
Key Responsibilities
- Manual handling and heavy lifting — moving materials, tools and equipment to where the trades need them (the same physical, on-your-feet work you'd know from a warehouse or factory floor)
- Site set-up, materials logistics and daily clean-down on your work front
- Demolition and break-out under direction — controlled removal of damaged concrete, tiles and render
- Waterproofing prep — grinding, cleaning, priming and bond breakers under trade direction
- Assisting the concrete repair, waterproofing and façade trades on our remedial scopes
- Mixing manufacturer products (primers, mortars, membranes) correctly to the datasheet — measured, not guessed
- Working at heights on scaffold and elevated work platforms, always to the safe work method
- Progress photos and simple QA records on our site app
- Protecting resident property and conducting yourself professionally in occupied buildings
Skills/Requirements
What you need on day one:
- Physically fit, up for sustained manual handling, heavy lifting and working at heights — if you can handle a full warehouse or factory shift, you can handle this
- Reliable and punctual — 7am starts, full shifts, every day. Reliability is the single thing we value most
- Right to work in Australia
- Construction Induction White Card — required, or willing to obtain before you start (it's a one-day course; we'll point you to it)
- Able to take direction, ask when you're unsure, and work safely as part of a crew
No experience necessary — willing to train. This role suits warehouse workers, storepersons, process workers, factory workers and picker/packers who want off the warehouse floor and into a trade that pays more over time.
Nice to have (not essential):
- Working at Heights ticket, EWP licence, First Aid certificate
- Driver's licence and own transport — our sites move around the Sydney metro
- Any hands-on construction, remedial or strata experience — you'll start a grade up
What's On Offer
- Weekly pay, every week (Thursday–Wednesday cycle)
- Casual / daily hire or full-time — your choice
- Award allowances paid in full — travel allowance with your own transport, multi-storey allowance on high-rise work,
and first-aid allowance if you're the designated officer
- We fund your tickets once you're past probation — Working at Heights, EWP, Confined Space, rope access
- A genuine, company-funded path: labourer → trade assistant → apprentice → qualified tradesperson
- A steady Sydney pipeline of strata and remedial work — consistent hours, not stop-start
