SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
- Interpreting job cards, architectural drawings, work orders, and approved client samples to determine specific coating systems, colour requirements, and operational sequences for each project.
- Executing thorough surface preparation on raw timber, veneered panels, and engineered board surfaces by cleaning, stripping old finishes with solvents/scrapers, filling imperfections, and performing hand and power sanding.

- Preparing, setting up, and operating conventional and airless spray application systems, pressure pots, and spray booths to achieve efficient,
defect-free coating across furniture panels and joinery components.
- Applying multi-layer protective and decorative finishes—including stains, undercoats, sealers, lacquers, shellac, varnishes, and specialty paints—ensuring uniform coverage and high-end aesthetic standards.
- Polishing, buffing, and waxing completed furniture surfaces to deliver specified sheen levels, tactile smoothness, and long-lasting surface protection.
- Performing detailed touch-ups, colour corrections, and surface repairs on marked or rejected furniture pieces prior to final quality inspection and dispatch.
- Fitting, fastening, and mounting frame components, backing materials, and joinery hardware as required by specific job orders or custom framing specifications.
- Conducting routine cleaning, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on spray guns, fluid lines, pressure pots, and spray booth extraction systems (including filter replacements) to ensure optimal airflow and equipment uptime.
- Enforcing strict Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols across the workshop, ensuring compliant handling, storage, and disposal of chemical solvents, coatings, and hazardous materials while utilizing appropriate PPE at all times.
