When you join MercyCare, you become part of something bigger than a job. We live by our values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice, excellence and courage, and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable people in our community.

About the role

This role plays a vital part in keeping our equipment maintained and fully functional, our facilities safe, and disruption to residents, visitors and staff to a minimum. You’ll assess unforeseen maintenance issues, identify practical solutions, evaluate repair requirements and, where possible, complete repairs yourself. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also share your knowledge by coaching, training and mentoring others, helping build capability and confidence across the team.

About you

You’ll bring strong technical skills across general maintenance and repairs, with confidence using a range of tools and equipment. You’ll be highly organised, with excellent time management and planning skills, and have a strong customer service focus from working in a similar role.

You’ll be comfortable working independently, taking ownership and finding practical solutions to achieve great outcomes. A strong understanding of workplace safety, risk assessment and safe work practices will also be essential.

Your key experience will include:

- Trade qualification preferred
- Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)

- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)

About the benefits

You'll become part of an inclusive, Western Australian Not For Profit team. Our MercyCare Promise focuses on our people being connected and empowered to make a positive difference in the heart of our local communities. Joining us means you’ll have access to:

- Not for profit Salary Packaging options up to $15,900 plus over $2,000 meal and entertainment advantages
- Add in benefits aligned with agreements/awards
- Childcare discounts for your little ones
- Career Pathways, Professional Development and Training
