ICT Services Division (ISD) is responsible for enabling Information and Communication Technology (ICT) functions and activities in the department. The division provides a secure, modern ICT environment so that the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes. ISD staff work collaboratively across the department, taking advantage of advances in technology, to deliver end-to-end services and solutions that are nationally consistent and deliver organisational and business benefits. As a trusted ICT adviser, ISD aims to strengthen its partnerships with other divisions through the provision of professional advice, innovative solutions and high quality, timely and reliable ICT services. ISD staff are experts in ICT operations, ICT project planning and delivery, ICT applications development and support, ICT security, ICT contracts and vendor management, web services, information, data and records management and ICT governance and strategy. The division also includes the Shared Services Centre which allows organisations to leverage established and emerging infrastructure and capabilities of another organisation providing cost savings, increased ICT buying power and common tools and services.

We manage the ICT platforms and systems that support the department’s core operations. Our team ensures these platforms are secure, scalable, and designed for long-term sustainability. We support innovation through DevOps practices and up-to-date testing approaches, enabling faster and more reliable delivery of digital solutions. From Information Management to ERP Systems, and Web and Collaboration systems, we provide the digital foundation that helps staff work efficiently and deliver services that support the department.

This is where you play an important role.

The role provides strategic and operational leadership for the intranet, owns the intranet vision, and leads a specialist team. Working closely with communications and business areas, the role uses user insight and evidence to improve content, design and the overall internal digital experience, contributing to secure, accessible and well-governed digital services. The duties of the role may include some or all of the following:

- Work closely with the Communications team and business areas to guide and innovate intranet content and design approaches, ensuring decisions are grounded in user needs and best practice.
- Use analytics, user feedback and operational insights to monitor performance, address issues and drive continuous improvement of the intranet experience.

Who we are looking for
Our ideal candidate will have:

- An experienced digital leader who has successfully managed a complex intranet or digital platform and can lead, motivate and support a team to deliver high quality outcomes.
- Someone with strong, hands-on knowledge of SharePoint Online, including modern pages, content management approaches and intranet information design, who is comfortable providing technical leadership and ensuring the intranet is well-structured, secure and governed.
- Demonstrated technical capability in SharePoint Online administration, including managing site settings, permissions and platform configuration within governed environments.
- A collaborative communicator who builds strong relationships with communications teams, content owners and stakeholders and can clearly explain ideas, influence decisions and engage senior audiences.
