Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dentist to join our multidisciplinary health service in the heart of the Northern Territory. Based in Tennant Creek, this rewarding opportunity allows you to deliver comprehensive dental services while contributing to improved oral health outcomes for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients across the Barkly Region.

This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality dental care to our community, ensuring optimal oral health and patient satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for promoting dental health and will play a key role in providing high-quality dental care, oral health education, and preventative health initiatives for people of all ages.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver quality clinical dental services to children, adults and older community members.
- Promote positive oral health outcomes through treatment, prevention and education.
- Support the development of Dental Health Workers and community oral health initiatives.
- Participate in outreach and bush visits across the Barkly region when required.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to quality improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with medical, allied health and community services teams.




- Assist with Dental Clinic accreditation processes and continuous service improvement
- Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and assessments to diagnose oral health issues.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans for patients.
- Perform a variety of dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, and root canals.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent dental qualification.
- Current or eligibility for AHPRA registration.
- A minimum of three years post-graduation experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuing career development and education.
- Knowledge of general dentistry, minimal intervention dentistry and infection control practices.
- The ability to obtain a National Police Check and NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card.
- A current Driver's Licence.
