Description

We're currently looking for a versatile and motivated team member to join our Rolleston operation in a combined Plant Operator and Concrete Truck Driver role.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety, combining plant operations with concrete delivery responsibilities. You're core responsibility will be as a driver but workload dependant you will learn about batching and producing high-quality concrete, conducting quality checks, loading trucks. Supporting the production team with maintaining the plant, yard and equipment. You will be given the opportunity to become a lab technician, learning about concrete testing and quality. Working closely with dispatch, plant teams and customers, you'll help ensure orders are produced accurately, delivered on time and meet Firth's quality standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, takes pride in their work and likes seeing the direct results of their effort every day.
You'll spend part of your time supporting the day-to-day operation of the plant and part of your time behind the wheel, providing outstanding service to customers across the region. Whether you're testing concrete quality, loading a truck or delivering to site, your focus will be on safety, quality and customer service.
What You'll Bring
- A Class 4 licence
- Strong commitment to health and safety
- Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn technical processes
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
- Positive literacy, numeracy and computer skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive, can-do approach and willingness to learn
- Experience in concrete, manufacturing, transport, construction, heavy machinery or plant operations would be advantageous but isn't essential.
