Primary objective
Provide leadership in developing, implementing and maintaining program governance and information management frameworks, systems,
standards and processes for the portfolio of projects and programs managed by Digital Project Services division.
Context statement
Digital Project Services delivers complex, high value, and high-risk digital programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives for
core frontline services through an inter-agency collaborative approach. Working closely with the client Agencies, the team comprises of
public sector employees and contractors working together to deliver multiple streams of activity as programs are implemented. The work




environment is dynamic, rapid-paced and results driven with high expectations of superior service delivery.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. As part of the division’s leadership team, provide day-to-day direction to the governance and systems teams contributing to the

development and management of program support functions.
2. Provide strategic advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders on program governance, information management and systems to

support the delivery of digital project and programs over the lifecycle.
3. Lead the continued development, implementation and maintenance of the digital project management framework.
4. Play a key role in supporting strong governance assurance frameworks that enable effective decision-making, compliance and facilitate

stakeholder engagement.
5. Lead the development and maintenance of data governance and information management plans, providing strategic advice to digital

projects and programs on handling of sensitive data.
6. Manage and lead the protection of project delivery systems and tools, ensuring appropriate user screening and audit processes are

established and maintained.
7. Support the senior manager governance in the successful delivery of service outputs and the achievement of planned outcomes.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. In-depth understanding of governance practices,



data governance controls, project assurance and risk management practices and

methodologies, particularly to digital transformation projects and activities.
2. Well-developed knowledge of government and industry standards in digital project management frameworks and governance

assurance standards, with an understanding of system processes across digital areas using tools such as Jira, Confluence and
SharePoint.

3. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders through
effective engagement and change management.

4. Demonstrated strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in practical application managing digital
systems and tools.

5. Demonstrated high level writing skills to produce meeting records, reports, briefings and submissions, develop recommendations,
monitor and follow-up action items.

6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.

Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience operating at a senior level in government.
