Role Description This full-time, on-site Accountant role is based in Coffs Harbour, NSW. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing financial statements, processing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate ledgers for a diverse range of clients. The role includes preparing and reviewing tax returns and BAS, supporting compliance and audit engagements, and assisting with SMSF and company audit documentation.

The Accountant will collaborate with Partners, Managers, and the wider team to analyze financial data, identify issues, and provide clear, practical recommendations to clients. Additional responsibilities include responding to client queries,



maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes.

Qualification preferences:

- Strong core accounting skills, including financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
- Tax and compliance capabilities, such as experience with income tax returns, BAS/IAS preparation, and familiarity with Australian tax regulations.
- Audit and assurance experience, including working on compliance audits, supporting SMSF and company audits, and applying relevant auditing standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems and tools efficiently.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data, identify variances, and recommend practical solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients and colleagues in accessible terms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, build qualified relationships, and contribute to a supportive workplace culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; progress toward or completion of CA or CPA accreditation is highly regarded.
- Prior experience in public practice or a similar professional services setting is beneficial but not mandatory for suitably skilled candidates.
