Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced dietitian to join the Dietetics department.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role

This role requires

- Minimum of 7 years clinical experience
- Previous experience working in Subacute and/or Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) or similar subacute/community settings
- Proven clinical dietetic skills, including the ability to perform comprehensive nutritional assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, particularly within residential aged care settings.
- Knowledge of and commitment to evidence-based practice in dietetics, including the management of malnutrition and high-risk patient groups.
- Current Victorian Driver’s license

This role is responsible for:




- Providing high-quality dietetic care to Kilmore District Hospital’s GEM and medical inpatients and residents at Dianella and Caladenia Residential Aged Care Facilities
- Supporting compliance with the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards (ACQS), particularly the strengthened Food and Nutrition Standard (Standard 6)
- Undertaking comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
- Experience in contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives within clinical nutrition settings.
- Proven clinical dietetic skills, including the ability to perform comprehensive nutritional assessments, develop and implement care plans, andmonitorand evaluate patient outcomes, particularly within subacute and/or residential aged care settings.
- Knowledge of and commitment to evidence-based practice in dietetics, including the management of malnutrition and high-risk patient groups.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to support compliance with, the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards (ACQS), particularly Standard 6: Food and Nutrition.
- Robust organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and deliver services in an effective and cost-effective manner aligned with organisational goals.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills,



including the ability to provide education and build effective working relationships with staff, patients, residents, and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills thatfacilitatean ability to workeffectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/ community education
- High level negotiation and conflict resolutionand problem-solvingskills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Competent computer skills particularly Word processing and internet use, and the ability to learndedicated software
