Transport Australia | Full time | Sydney CBD / Hybrid

Help turn industry expertise into compelling content, and audience interest into participation.

Transport Australia champions an integrated and sustainable transport system as the enabler for a prosperous Australia. We bring government and industry together through policy, events, leadership development and member engagement.

We’re looking for a Digital Content and Event Marketing Manager to grow our reach with the audiences who matter, strengthen our digital storytelling and drive participation in our events and programs.

From a conversation with a transport leader to a Fellowship story or a policy insight, you’ll identify what makes the content useful, choose the right format and get it in front of the right people.

About the role

This is a hands-on role combining campaign planning, content production and performance analysis. You’ll move confidently between writing, filming, editing, publishing and reporting, taking work from an initial idea through to delivery.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Program and Communication, you’ll work closely with colleagues across events, policy, operations and membership.

The role is based in Sydney CBD two days a week, with three days working from home, and interstate travel as needed.

What you’ll do

- Plan integrated campaigns: Turn TA’s events, leadership programs, policy priorities and member opportunities into a coordinated campaign and content calendar, with clear audiences, milestones and measures.
- Market events and programs: Lead campaigns for industry events,

Fellowship recruitment, Emerging Leaders activities and awards. Develop persuasive email sequences, social posts, website copy and calls to action.
- Create digital content: Produce clear, credible writing, short videos, photography and visual assets for LinkedIn, Instagram, the website and email channels.
- Manage our channels: Own the content schedule, drafting, approvals, publishing and day-to-day community engagement, maintaining brand and accessibility standards.
- Extend the value of events: Capture content, share practical insights, amplify speakers and support targeted follow-up.
- Measure and improve: Track priority-audience reach, engagement, website referrals, registrations, applications and enquiries. Use the results to improve campaigns and distinguish audience activity from evidence of broader influence.
- Support media activity: Support preparation of media materials, coordinate opportunities and monitor coverage, escalating sensitive matters to the Executive Director and CEO.
- Collaborate across TA: Use member insights, audience segmentation and CRM data to strengthen targeting, participation and reporting.

Support event delivery with speaking notes and run sheets where needed.

What you’ll bring

- Strong practical experience in digital communications, content marketing, event marketing or audience engagement.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to make complex industry and policy topics clear and engaging.
- Experience delivering integrated campaigns across social media, websites and email.
- Confidence producing simple, high-quality video, photography and graphics.
- An understanding of analytics, audience targeting and conversion.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team.

Experience in a membership organisation, infrastructure, government, professional services or another complex stakeholder environment would be valuable. Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM is a plus. You’ll enjoy this role if you’re…

Curious about what makes people pay attention and take part. Comfortable balancing a forward plan with changing priorities. Fast and accurate, with sound editorial judgement and the initiative to see work through.

You’ll also have an interest in transport and infrastructure, and in showing how a better-connected system benefits businesses and communities.

Apply by Friday 30 October 2026.

In your cover letter, tell us how your experience in digital content and campaign delivery would help Transport Australia reach priority audiences and grow participation.
