Your new career Surf Coast Shire Council is looking to fill three Early Childhood Educator opportunities to commence in Term One 2027:
- Early Childhood Educator at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten
- Early Childhood Bush Kinder Additional Assistant at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten
- Early Childhood Educator at Helen M Kininmonth Kindergarten (9-month maternity leave cover)

Our Kindergarten Educators
- Ensure the provision of a high-quality education and care program that meets the approved learning frameworks and National Quality Standards set by the Victorian Government; and

Position One - Early Childhood Educator at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten Hours 17.75 hours per week 14 hours contact time (as below)
plus 3.75 hours non-contact time

Wednesday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Position Two - Early Childhood Bush Kinder Additional Assistant at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten Hours
17.25 hours per week
14.75 hours contact time (as below)
plus 2.5 hours non-contact time

Tuesday 8:30am to 11:30am (1 session)
Wednesday 9:00am to 12:00pm and 12:30pm to 3:30pm (2 sessions)
Friday 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 4:00pm (2 sessions)
Position Three - Early Childhood Educator at Helen M Kininmonth Kindergarten Hours
9-month maternity cover leave
19 hours per week
15 hours contact time (as below)
plus 4 hours non-contact time

Wednesday 12:15pm to 3:15pm plus planning
Thursday 8:45am to 2:45pm
Friday 8:45am to 2:45pm
Successful candidates in these role may be eligible for Victorian Government financial incentives.

What You Will Bring To The Role
We are looking for Early Childhood Educators who are compassionate, dedicated and driven to making a positive impact on the lives of our local community members and their families.
To Thrive In These Role You Will Have
- Knowledge of early childhood development and practice
- Knowledge of approved learning frameworks, National Quality Framework and national law and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key selection criteria Mandatory Qualifications, Experience And Requirements
- Minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services from an ACECQA approved training organisation
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families
- Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program in accordance with approved learning frameworks
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this impacts on daily practice
- Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff
- Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace
- Mandatory Reporting Training certificate completed annually
- Mandatory Child Safety training, both Foundation and Advanced
- A current level II First Aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
