About the Role
You'll work in a multi-disciplinary setting with company Creatives, Directors and Producers. The ideal candidate should have a strong editorial sense for short-form storytelling and visual communication that resonates with audiences on social platforms.
We’re looking for a multidisciplinary Editor/DP to join our team full-time, working across commercial, branded and social content from pre-production through to final delivery.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is equally comfortable behind the camera and in the edit suite. You’ll collaborate closely with directors, producers and creatives to develop visual approaches, shoot projects and shape stories through post-production.
We’re looking for someone with a strong visual eye, technical confidence and an understanding of how cinematography and editing work together to tell a story.
Responsible for:
Editing and Post Production
- Editing video projects for Global Brands for their social and online platforms
- Work closely with Director’s, Producer’s and Creative Director to edit projects as per client briefs and treatments
- DIT video shoots and organise footage on hard drives after shoots
- Ingesting raw footage and managing proxy workflows
- Preparing footage for edits, pulling shots, cutting down interviews raw footage for offline edit, setting up footage for translation or subs.
- Archiving and media management of final completed edits.
- Sourcing music and archives from approved sites.
- Stick to schedules and work within deliveries deadlines.
- Contribute to the development of post-production workflows including schedules, company/client deliveries of assets, minutes for project feedback
- Preparing and handing off projects for colour, sound, VFX and online finishing ie comfortable with handing off XML/ EDL/ AAF sequences
- Stay engaged with emerging filmmaking techniques, equipment, visual culture and post-production workflows.
- Any other tasks related to the post-production process as required by your manager
Cinematography and Production
- Videography and cinematography of assigned projects
- Shoot commercial, branded, documentary and social content across a range of formats and scales.
- Collaborate with directors and creatives to develop the visual language of projects.
- Contribute to treatments, shot lists, references and technical planning during pre-production.
- Make considered decisions around camera, lenses, lighting, movement and composition.
- Operate confidently across both small, agile shoots and larger crew environments.
- Manage and maintain in-house camera, lighting and production equipment.
Reporting:
- Reports to Director/Editor
- Foster relationships with freelance personnel (freelance editors, motion designers, sound mixers)
Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years experience editing original video content in a production or agency environment
- Expert knowledge of Adobe CC programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro and/ or Da Vinci Resolve
- Strong understanding of commercial, branded and social content
- Strong knowledge of camera systems, lenses and lighting.
- A strong cinematography reel and visual sense.
- A good understanding of colour, sound, motion graphics and post-production workflows.
- Strong knowledge of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok and a visual and social understanding of the types of content that resonates with audiences on these platforms.
- Strong organisational and media-management skills including the ability to organise files on cloud servers, review and archival platforms (Dropbox, Frame io)
- Experience in working with Slack and Frame IO project management tools.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving studio environment.
