Always Prompt Repairs Pty Ltd (trading as Always Prompt Services) is a Brisbane appliance repair business, operating since 2009, with a team of field technicians and office staff based in Underwood QLD. We are hiring an experienced, full-time Appliance Repair Technician.
Pay: $46 to $60 per hour, plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime paid under the Award.
Hours: Full time, 38 ordinary hours per week averaged over a 28-day cycle (usually Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm), with a rostered day off each cycle.
Location: Field-based across Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, the Redlands and the northern Gold Coast. Base: Underwood QLD 4119.
Vehicle: Fully equipped company van, with paid travel between jobs.
What you will do
- Attend booked jobs at customers' homes and businesses, and diagnose, test, service and repair domestic appliances such as washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops and refrigerators.
- Use systematic fault-finding,
and follow manufacturer service information and protected isolation and testing procedures.
- Identify and order the right parts, and explain findings and repair options to customers clearly.
- Keep accurate job notes, photos, test results and timesheets in our job management app.
- Look after your van, tools, stock and customers' property.
What you need
- Proven trade-level experience repairing domestic appliances, gained through an apprenticeship, trade training or equivalent work experience.
- Sound electrical fault-finding and testing skills.
- A Queensland Restricted Electrical Work Licence for appliance work, or eligibility to obtain one.
- A current Australian driver licence (class C).
- Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
