The Opportunity:

- Part-Time 0.4 EFT | Ongoing contract of employment.
- PW3 $64,076 - $69,189 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Chadstone Campus - onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

The Design and Finishing Trades Department at Holmesglen delivers a diverse range of programs across fashion and interior design, furniture manufacturing and upholstery, trowel trades, painting and printing. With strong industry connections and programs ranging from Certificate II through to advanced diplomas and degree-level qualifications, the department provides students with practical, industry-relevant learning and strong pathways into employment across the design and finishing trades. Join our fashion programs as a Fashion Technician and play a key role in supporting students and teaching staff in a hands-on learning environment. You’ll provide technical support, maintain fashion equipment and assist with troubleshooting to ensure our facilities are ready for practical, industry-focused learning.

As a Fashion Technician, you will:

- Maintain and support fashion equipment,



tools and facilities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting equipment and assisting staff and students with a range of mechanical and technical issues.
- Source, order and manage equipment, materials and consumables to support teaching programs and departmental activities.
- Support events and department operations, including exhibitions, information days, stocktake and asset management.
- Promote safe and compliant practices, ensuring equipment, materials and work areas meet relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements.

To be successful, you’ll have:

- Experience in fashion, production, manufacturing or a technical environment, including equipment maintenance and sourcing materials.
- Experience managing equipment, stock, inventory and records in a technical or production environment.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and their application in a practical environment.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
- A Diploma qualification with relevant technical skills applicable to the fashion industry, or a lesser relevant qualification such as a Certificate III combined with relevant experience, and a current valid driver’s licence.

WWCC and Police Check:



Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
