Role Description This full time, on-site Hydraulic Designer/Drafter (Building Services) role is based in Adelaide, SA. The position involves preparing detailed hydraulic services drawings and documentation using CAD and/or BIM software, including water supply, sewer, stormwater, fire services, and associated systems. The role includes interpreting architectural and structural plans, coordinating with other building services disciplines, and ensuring designs meet relevant Australian standards, codes, and client specifications.

Designer/Drafter will assist in design calculations, sizing of pipework and equipment, and preparing schedules and layouts for tender and construction.



Day-to-day responsibilities also include responding to technical queries, updating documentation as designs evolve, and supporting project delivery within agreed timeframes and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in hydraulic building services design and drafting for commercial or residential projects.
- Proficiency with CAD and/or BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for preparing hydraulic services documentation.
- Solid understanding of relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and local authority regulations for hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and coordinate across disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a consulting environment.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Building Services, Engineering, Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Experience in Adelaide or broader SA regulatory environment and familiarity with local construction practices is desirable.
