Electrolight is looking for an Intermediate Level Lighting Designer to join our Sydney team. If you are motivated and have 3+ years experience, we’d be glad to hear from you.

In this role you will be a part of a highly collaborative design team working on iconic hospitality and hotel projects, high-end residences and a range of commercial, retail, landscape and urban design projects.

THE ROLE

- Broad technical knowledge in architectural lighting design
- Hand-drawing and computer aided drawing skills, experience in lighting calculation softwares and lighting visualisation skills

DUTIES
- ormulation of lighting concepts that are founded on detailed research
- Innovative application of technical aspects of lighting
- Liaising with clients, other members of the design team, suppliers and contractors as required
- Developing design concepts and documentation at all project stages under the supervision of the Head of Design
- Preparation and issuing of drawings and other design documentation as required using CAD or Revit




- Undertaking design calculations and lighting modelling
- Preparation of cost estimates
- Preparation of reports, sketches and presentations using Indesign suite
- Generating and maintaining client relationships and bringing in current work for the company
- Supporting our Global approach through involvement in projects across our global studios

REQUIREMENTS

- Design background and relevant qualification, ie Lighting Design or related field (Architecture, Design)
- Proficiency with CAD, Revit, AGI and Indesign Suite (Photoshop, Indesign)
- Lighting Experience
- Knowledge of lamps and luminaires
- Understanding of the physics of light
- Proficiency with CAD, AGI, 3D Studio Max, Indesign Suite, Revit (advantageous)
- Ability to communicate effectively and actively participate in projects with minimum supervision
- Ability to simultaneously work on a number of different projects and tasks
- Basic understanding of wider building services
- Represent the company to a high professional standard at all times.
- A minimum of 3+ years industry experience
- Ability to self-manage tasks and work independently
