Lead Nursing Excellence in Cancer Services in Princess Alexandra Hospital
Lead with purpose in this senior nursing management role, driving operational excellence, quality improvement and workforce development across Cancer Services while supporting exceptional patient outcomes.
About This Role
Your new role
As Nurse Manager, you will provide advanced nursing leadership and operational guidance across the Division of Cancer Services. Working collaboratively with Nursing Directors, Grade 7 leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will support strategic priorities, clinical governance, workforce development and the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
In This Role, You Will
- Provide advanced clinical and professional leadership, decision-making and operational management.
- Lead effective human, material and financial resource management to support service priorities and patient outcomes.
- Drive quality, risk management, clinical governance, benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support workforce capability through education, mentoring, professional development and a solid culture of learning.
About You You are an accomplished nursing leader with advanced clinical knowledge, strong operational management experience and the ability to lead teams through innovation and change. You bring sound judgement, strategic thinking and a commitment to evidence-informed, person-centred care, with the interpersonal skills to influence and engage multidisciplinary teams.
You Will Bring
- Proven experience in nursing leadership, team management and building positive, engaged workplace cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital unit operational management, resource management and achieving performance outcomes.
- Strong skills in quality assurance,
data analysis, benchmarking, clinical governance and service improvement.
- Advanced knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, treatments and outcomes, with the ability to apply evidence-based practice.

About Us The Division of Cancer within Metro South Health is a highly developed, multidisciplinary cancer service providing tertiary and quaternary level, comprehensive adult cancer services for Metro South Health and the wider Queensland community.
The Division of Cancer Services offers a range of cancer related conditions with further expansion of the service to include Paediatric radiation oncology services. The Division of Cancer's radiation therapy services, including Radiation oncology services extend across two campuses - Ipswich Road Woolloongabba and Raymond Terrace, South Brisbane.
The Gamma Knife Centre of Queensland commenced in 2015 and is dedicated to treating complex neurological conditions. This is the only Gamma Knife® technology available in the public hospital system in Australia and the first and only service in Queensland.
The Gamma
Knife® service compliments PAH's reputation as a Centre of Excellence in cancer care and treatment and established the service as a world-class radiosurgery facility.
