Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based at Able Life Hub in Devon Meadows, VIC.

The Occupational

Therapist will work predominantly with paediatrics and assess participants’ functional abilities, develop individualized therapy plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to support physical, emotional, and social goals. Daily tasks include conducting one-on-one sessions, documenting progress, collaborating with allied health practitioners, and communicating regularly with participants, families, and support networks.



The role involves integrating nature-based and animal-assisted activities into therapy programs to promote engagement, confidence, and functional skill development.

The Occupational

Therapist will also contribute to program planning, risk assessment, and continuous improvement of therapeutic services within the environment.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in paediatric Occupational Therapy, with the ability to design and implement individualized, evidence-based intervention plans.
- Foundational knowledge of Medicine and Rehabilitation principles to support holistic, multidisciplinary care.
- Solid Communication skills for collaborating with participants, families, and allied health professionals, and for clear documentation and reporting.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including working with children and young people in therapeutic and social skill–building programs.
- Recognized qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies.
- Experience in community, disability, mental health, or allied health settings, ideally including nature-based or animal-assisted programs.
- Ability to work safely and confidently in outdoor and farm environments, with sound risk assessment and monitoring skills.
- Commitment to inclusive, person-centered practice and continuous professional development.
