About You
You are an experienced compliance lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.
Your Experience and Expertise:
- Experience triaging incidents, non-compliance events, regulatory breaches and privacy breaches within a regulated setting
- Strong understanding of breach identification, assessment and escalation frameworks
- Knowledge of obligations under the Corporations Act and broader Australian financial services regulatory framework
- Experience assessing reportable situations and determining whether matters meet regulatory notification thresholds
- Ability to investigate incidents and gather information from business stakeholders to support breach assessments
- Understanding of core obligations applicable to financial services and credit providers
- Knowledge of consumer credit legislation, including credit application breaches and National Credit Code breaches
- Experience preparing or supporting regulatory notifications to ASIC and other regulators
- Ability to analyse complex issues, assess risk and determine appropriate review pathways
- Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them to operational incidents and business practices
- Experience managing high volumes of incidents while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory accuracy
- Understanding of risk, compliance and governance frameworks within banking or financial services
- Exposure to prudential regulation and APRA requirements highly regarded
- Experience within financial services, banking, credit, risk or compliance functions preferred
- Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation, risk assessments and recommendations for internal and regulatory audiences
