The Project
Coordinator for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), is responsible for providing governance oversight across the entire capability initiative lifecycle, ensuring end-to-end oversight and alignment, holding assigned Project Managers accountable for the successful delivery of agreed Project Plans and capability uplift initiatives. The role ensures adherence to agreed milestones, timelines, governance requirements, and delivery outcomes through proactive monitoring, risk and issue management, performance reporting, and timely escalation of matters that may impact the achievement of strategic objectives.

What's Involved
- Maintain and continuously improve Capability Management Procedure, governance frameworks, standards, reporting disciplines, and delivery controls.
- Foster collaboration across project teams, functional areas, and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of capability uplift initiatives.
- Monitor and challenge performance against approved plans, budgets, milestones, and benefits.
- Hold Project Managers accountable for capability delivery outcomes and effective project management practices.
- Escalate capability delivery concerns and provide informed recommendations to support decision-making by capability sponsors and executives.
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for monthly Capability Review Panels (CRPs) and Annual Capability Planning Conferences (ACPCs).
- Maintenance of the Capability Management Register (CMR).
- Promote continuous improvement in project delivery practices, governance processes, and benefits realisation across the Transformation Program.
You'll Need
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, with a degree in Project Management desirable.
- Demonstrated practical experience and knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Willingness to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to change.
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
