Work alongside an experienced Project Manager and Senior Site Manager in a team that will support you to develop and succeed

Hindmarsh is looking for a Project Engineer to join the team delivering a major $100M+ affordable housing development in Canberra.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your experience on a large and complex project while working alongside an experienced and highly capable project leadership team.

You'll work closely with the Project Manager, Senior Site Manager and Senior Project Engineer, giving you access to experienced construction leaders who will support your development while giving you genuine responsibility for your own areas of the project.

As a Project Engineer at Hindmarsh, you'll play an important role in coordinating the technical, design and construction requirements of the project and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will be responsible for:

- Taking ownership of construction packages and coordinating their delivery from procurement through to completion
- Working closely with the Senior Project Engineer and site team to plan and coordinate construction activities
- Coordinating subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to achieve project milestones
- Managing RFIs, shop drawings, technical submissions and project documentation
- Reviewing drawings and specifications and helping resolve design and constructability issues
- Preparing scopes of work and providing technical input into procurement and tender assessments
- Coordinating inspections, ITPs, hold points and quality requirements
- Monitoring subcontractor performance, progress and quality
- Proactively identifying technical and construction issues and working with the wider project team to resolve them
- Maintaining accurate project records and supporting reporting on program, quality and project progress

We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in a Project Engineer or Site Engineer role within commercial construction




- Experience working with a head contractor on medium to large-scale construction projects
- Strong technical construction knowledge and an understanding of construction methodology
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants and design documentation
- Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
